Osama bin Laden* ( Riyadh to Arabian Sea )

Journeyed from  Riyadh to Arabian Sea Laden
What all he did and what all he gained?

1. Riyadh - Where money speaks and love peaked

Siblings a plenty, multiple links
World at home and all at ease

2. With Siblings

What is it that made him leave ?
From serene hearth to rocky terrains

3. Afghanistan

Then on wards to an earthly haven
Where nature's magic left nothing barren

4. Road to or road from Abbottabad
Land - I have not been, but yes it is green

5. Town  Abbottabad
No mad crowd , no dense settlement
Where people not violent, but peaceful I read

In troubled waters danger lurked
Yet He walked from vale to gale ?

6. Churning heaving, Arabian Sea

From mother's lap to abyss wrath
From alpine home to watery trails

Its time we thought of things like these
In order to have in world, more peace

**  The Gypsy peoples originate from Sind region now in Pakistan.
Their Rom language is close to the older forms of Indian languages.

*** Iberia was a name given by the ancient Greeks and Romans to the ancient Georgian kingdom of Kartli (4th         century BC – 5th century AD), corresponding roughly to the eastern and southern parts of the present day Georgia. And thus people of Iberia were called Iberians.

Campus Scene - Jamia Milllia Islamia

Admission time what a hustle..................................Students upset minds puzzled.................................

    1. Administrative Block, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi

    Trimming trees and watering lawns
    Birds chirping and other sounds

Is nature's music at no cost
For all to be drawn and be lost

A gardener at work with hoe and spade
Two here gossiping in friendly ways

A cyclist comes and joins the group
Fresh talk then soon  springs anew

    An Ac* nearby hums away
Do make no sound it does say

An officer is at his work
After  a long break can he shirk?

    Kalka Mail Tragedy ( Sunday, 10th July, 2011 )

    1. Kalka Mail Tragedy (India)

    2. Location Map

    Sunday afternoon, 10th July
    Kalka tragedy and many died

    Howrah to Delhi rushing train
Schools reopened with the coming of rain

    Malwan near Fatehpur accident site
    Coaches mangled, a horrific sight

    3. An Extremely  Sorrowful Day In Malwan  ( It is 35 km from Fatehpur, UP )

    Rescue operation locals began
Army, Air Force with tools they ran

    Cutting metals with gas cutters
Flying injured by Air Force 'copters

City hospital could take no more
Shagun Marriage Hall opened its door

Thanks to Hazi*, his hall turned ward
Supplied food and water,  Bless him Dear God

Private doctors too did their bit
Stitched and bandaged those badly hit

A silent prayer for all the dead
God alone consoles one's who are left

    To pick up their luggage
    And carry on with life

The goodness in humanity was seen that day
May not such a disaster come in anyone's way

    Notes:-

The drivers of the ill fated train were A.K. Pandey and U.K. Yadav.

The first offiicial to arrive was Akhand Pratap, Station Officer of Govt.
    Railway Police at Fatehpur.

Army teams came from Allahabad and Kanpur. Air Force Helicopters
were used to fly the injured to Kanpur.

    * The owner of Shagun Marriage Hall, located opposite City Hospital, is Hazi Raza Mohd.
This Hall was opened by its owner as an extension to the Hospital. More than 120
patients were then treated in this Hall on the night of 10th July, 2011. Hazi provided food
and water to all admitted in his Hall. The City Hospital sent antibiotics and injections,
and Private Doctors from the city too helped and chemists  kept their shops opened
       all through the night.

Triplets: 1) Reflections On A Rainy Day...................2) Lark In The Park...................3) Monsoon

    1) Reflections On A Rainy Day

    1.  Green Maharashtra after monsoon

Can I Count the movies I have seen
Can I count the places I have been
Can I count the books I have read
Can I count the kind words I have said

Can I think of the times I have been good
Can I think of the times I should have stood
Can I count the days I have been on leave
Can I say all the thoughts I do believe

Can I count the people whom I have met
Can I count the days that have been wet
Can I count the tears that I have shed
Can I count the time I should have led

Can I count the times I have been bad
Can I count the days I have been sad
Can I count the praises I have won
Have I thanked God for all He has done

Its time I knelt and bowed my head
And asked for forgiveness from the only Head
Do keep me safe I cry and pray
Good Lord above please show me the way

     2)  Lark in the Park*

    2. Rather the birds woke me up!  (Maharashtra)

I wake up in the morning
    And hear the birds singing

I take a walk in the park
And hope to see the lonely lark

It had lost its friends on its way
And had come to the park yesterday

There it was all drenched and wet
I longed to keep it as my pet

But thoughts of its friends waiting yonder
Made me to sit awhile and ponder

Where is their home, for all I see
Is the shrinking greens and increasing we

     3)   Monsoon*

    3. Monsoon, India's Boon

June 1st, monsoon hits coastal Kerala first
From there it trudges slowly to the north
By the time sun reaches the Tropic of Cancer
Lo! behold the winds are not far behind
Gushing and puffing its journey not yet done
Northwards it rushes, but humbled by the Himalayas
And the fiery Thar has for its feast warm moist winds
The former drenched in rain and the latter still parched
The call of the Thar is monsoon in India
Yet all over it rains ,but for Thar and Coromandel
Beating the retreat it does soon after the sun** to equator it moves
Tamilians now cooled to their hearts and tis time to bid
Sun and monsoon farwell till the next year is here again

    4. Earth revolving around the Sun giving us seasons
and rotating about its axis and giving us day and night

    5. Monsoon magic paints green

    *    Both the poems, Lark In The Park as well as Monoon were  written for the
sake of school kids, one from Delhi and the other from Simla.

** The apparent shifting of the sun though of course it is
the earth that revolves around the sun
